The Summer WoW Experience! FAQ Where is the event located? Summer WoW is held at a private retreat in Washington County in Upstate New York, not too far from Saratoga Springs.
Can I attend for just 3 days instead of all five days? Yes, you can register for Friday afternoon through Sunday brunch.
What does it mean, "Summer WoW is all inclusive"? When you attend Summer Wow, you will have your lodging and meals provided. You will have access to a variety of recreational opportunities on the site and a well equipped dungeon all included at no extra charge. Bring your clothes, toys, a towel for the pool and personal care items. We take care of just about everything else.
Can I get a private room with a bathroom? Semi-private rooms and quad occupancy bunk rooms are available. They each have a bathroom and a shower. There are a limited number of these rooms available. They are available on a first come-first served basis with priority given to people with disability and special needs, and to those registering for the full event.
Are there service hookups if I camp? If you are camping, you will not find any service hookups available. Tent camping is encouraged.
Are campfires allowed? Open fires are not allowed without the express permission of both Summer WoW and the operators of the host venue. And then, only in designated locations.
What if it rains? Summer WoW is held regardless of the weather. Classes are held in the main lodge. Meals are eaten there. And if it is raining, there is enough space for everyone to be comfortable in the main lodge building.
Are there showers and bathrooms for campers? Yes! No matter where you are camped, the main lodge is a short walk away. There are bathrooms and showers available inside the main lodge building. And there are outdoor showers available there, too.
Can I stay in off-site accomodations? No, sorry. This event is about community. This is an immersive experience. All attendees must stay on site for the event. All meals are provided? Yes! All your meals are provided. The meals are always tasty and the food is plentiful. The staff leaves us beverages between meals and snacks in the Main Lodge after dinner. Snacks and a cool drink can be very welcome after an evening of dungeon play.
What if I have special dietary needs? The cooking staff provides us with a gluten free option, a vegetarian option and usually a dairy free option at every meal. The cooking staff is available at meal time and will answer any questions regarding the food. We have found them to be very accomodating to special needs if at all possible. If you have any dietary restrictions, make sure you explain them in detail on the event's Registration Form.

Is there a dress code for the event? Once you are on the venue's property there are no specific rules for how to dress. This is a clothing optional event. Many choose to dress at a minimum during the day. Nudity is not uncommon. Many of the women choose to wear only a sarong....which just happen to be sold by the venue in their store, downstairs in the Main Lodge. You can certainly wear your favorite fetish wear any time during the event. Saturday night in the dungeon is when most put on their best. But there is no dress code at any time during the event.
What should I pack? A quick overview of what you should bring: Your complement of camping gear if camping. Your own pillow if your are on a bed and particular about pillows. An electric fan and extension cord if you are in Guest Room or Quad room.(There are window fans, but there is no air conditioning). Your personal care items and medicines. A flashlight. Your toybag (not dungeon equipment, we have that covered). Bathing suit and towel for the pool. Comfortable footwear to walk around the grounds. Sun Screen, Bug repellent. Fetish items or toys in good condition you would like to sell at the silent auction table. Clothing to cover a variety of situations. The weather can vary widely. At the very least, prepare for heat but bring a warm outer layer and a rain jacket of some kind. We never know what to expect so come prepared.
What are the rules regarding alcoholic beverages and recreational drugs? Summer WoW is a substance-free event. No alcohol or drugs, please. Abuse of this rule can get you ejected from the event. Who can attend Summer WoW? Summer WoW is open to all adults. Being friendly, respectful, and community minded are all helpful traits for fitting in and enjoying this event. Can I attend if I am not partnered? Sure! While the majority of those who attend are partnered, there are always some singles, too. Will I be able to find play if I am not partnered? We post a "Looking for Play" discussion in the Summer WoW group on Fetlife in the months before the event. We also have a Discord group where people can ask questions about the event, arrange pre-event chats with potential play partners, or just hang out and socialize. Info about access to the Discord group is also in our Summer WoW group on Fetlife. And at the event, we will have a board where people can again post their availability for play....what you are offering or what you are seeking. You are entirely responsible for finding your own casual play, negotiating it properly, and keeping it a positive experience all around. We do recommend if you play with someone new, you do that in the dungeon when others are around. It keeps everyone honest. Am I required to attend classes and workshops? You do not have to attend anything. But we do our best to find dynamic presenters with the most engaging topics. We hope that you will attend and show our presenters some support while you learn a new thing or two. And there is always something new to learn in our hands-on workshops. Is there swimming at the venue? The swimming pool is fantastic on a hot day. It is a popular activity at Summer WoW. Remember to bring your own beach towel. Bathing suits are optional. Most folks don't bother with them. What if I have to purchase personal needs items? It does happen. The store on site is limited to a few books and mostly non-essential items. There is a drug store and a supermarket within a reasonable drive of the venue.
